Brain Health Training
Exercise and intellectual stimulation are two of the brain’s most important nutrients. Brain health training provides both. As a certified Brain Health Trainer I can structure a brain health-focused exercise plan for you!
Our brains are malleable and respond to what we feed them.
This training could be right for you if:
You’re feeling concerned about cognitive decline and want to be proactive about preventing it.
You’re noticing that your attention and focus are not as sharp as you’d like them to be.
You’ve been diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s or dementia.
You just want to know what you can be doing in the way of exercise and physical activity to optimize your brain health.
Any exercise is good; however, certain types of exercise are better than others.....
It’s important that a brain health exercise program be tailored to your individual needs and current capacity. As a certified Brain Health Trainer I can structure a brain health-focused exercise plan for you, guide you through the movements and types of exercise that will be most helpful, and show you how to modify the frequency, duration, and intensity of the exercises to get the most benefit for the health and longevity of your most important organ – your brain.
What Clients Say
Questions?
If you have any questions about the training please reach out and I will be happy to answer.
Is Brain Health Training different from other forms of exercise?
Yes and no. You’ll be familiar with some of the exercises, or types of exercise, and you may already be doing them. Other exercises will be new to you, and will challenge your brain in unfamiliar ways. The important thing is to understand the purpose of each form of exercise, and how to play with the variables of duration, intensity, and complexity to maximize the brain health benefit.
How often should I do brain health training?
You could certainly make it part of your daily routine, since any form of exercise feeds the brain in one way or another, in addition to benefiting other systems of the body. I typically work with clients 1-2 times/week, while giving them suggestions for exercise between sessions.
How long would I need to work with you?
That depends. I can teach you the basics of a brain health exercise program in 5-10 sessions. After that, depending on your motivation, you should be able to continue working on your own or with an exercise partner. Other clients enjoy the continuity of on-going regular sessions. It’s up to you.
Can Brain Health Training help me if I’ve already been diagnosed with early Alzheimer’s?
Absolutely! There’s lots of research that has shown that engaging in a brain health training program can ameliorate and slow the progression of Alzheimer’s, both the symptoms and the disease itself. We can look at and consider other lifestyle interventions as well.
